		<description>I don&#039;t think it would be too controversial to say that the whole idea of &#039;martial arts&#039; is a modern concept. So whether any of the &#039;oriental&#039; martial arts with their supposed ancient and mysterious traditions actually have histories longer than a few decades is probably a moot point. I&#039;m sure whole books could be written (maybe they already have been) on the question of Taekwondo history and would show its modern provenance.

Of course fighting games of one sort or another have been around on the Korean peninsula for a long time, but that is another story.</description>
