Speaking of Japanese Korean relations….

I know as well as anyone that the blogosphere is a self-selected and decidedly non-standard sample of any population (except, of course, bloggers). But, apropos our vigorous discussion of Jared Diamond on Japanese origins, comes an analysis suggesting a rising tide of anti-Korean patriotism among Japanese bloggers. 2. Hi there Charles. I know that this reduces the readability of Frog in a Well blogs but this weblog has both Japanese and English as its working languages (Chinese and English for the China blog), and its primary audience are those students and other visitors who can read both.

In the future, if anything, we hope to have more and more postings completely in Japanese as we bring Japanese contributors onboard, and comments will then flow between English and Japanese as visitors write in the language they feel most comfortable in.

You can read a bit more about our reasoning for this:

One large goal of the site is to increase interaction between those in Japan and elsewhere, and without welcoming Japanese comments and postings, this becomes difficult.
